rev soni cantrell smith
Reverend Soni Cantrell-Smith is the founding Minister of Ahava Center for Spiritual Living, in Lexington, Kentucky. She graduated from Holmes Institute in 2006 with a master’s degree in Consciousness Studies and she was ordained in 2011. Formerly the Music Director and the Director of Pastoral Care and Outreach, at Namasté Center for Spiritual Living, Rev. Soni is steeped in the principles of Science of Mind and considers herself a lifelong student of the philosophy.
Rev. Soni began her Religious Science studies in 1992 at the Huntington Beach Church of Religious Science, under the leadership of Rev. Mary Murry Shelton. From the moment she walked through the doors of the Huntington Beach church, Soni knew she was home. She soon began taking classes and she was licensed as a Practitioner in 1999. She helped Rev. Kristin Hawkins with the start-up of Namaste Center for Spiritual Living in Long Beach where, in addition to serving as Music and Pastoral Care Director, she served as assistant minister for three years before moving to Kentucky to start her own center. When Soni received the call to ministry, she attended Holmes Institute at Agape International Spiritual Center under the direction of Rev. Dr. Michael Beckwith. She graduated, and was licensed in 2006.
It was Rev. Soni’s dream to return to her roots and open a spiritual center in Kentucky. With the help of a core group of people in California and Kentucky who held the vision with her, Rev. Soni moved to Kentucky in June, 2009 and the doors to Ahava opened in July 2009. Ahava is a thriving, vibrant, expanding spiritual community.
In addition to serving her Ahava community, Rev. Soni believes it is important to take the tenets of Religious Science and New Thought into the world. Rev. Soni teaches spirituality classes at the Hope Center for Women, an intensive residential drug and alcohol rehabilitation program for women re-entering society after being released from incarceration. She is a co-founder of the Rainbow Bluegrass Faith Communities, a coalition of faith leaders dedicated to making their faith communities open and affirming to all.
Music has always been an important part of Rev. Soni’s life and she has been fortunate to be able to marry her love of music with her passion for new thought. She is proud of Last Call, a musical written by Rev. Soni, John Kito and Margo Buchanan, which was successfully performed (under the name The Enlightenment) in Long Beach, Seal Beach and Monterey California and in Denver, Colorado. Last Call takes place at a twelve-step meeting. Through the lens of Science of Mind Philosophy, Last Call offers hope for those who still suffer with addiction.

rev staci hylton
My great grandfather, J. Arthur Twyne, founded what is now known as LA Third (A Religious Science Church in Los Angeles, CA); therefore, Religious Science has always been a part of my life. I grew up attending Founder’s Church in Los Angeles, CA, and as an adult attended Agape International Spiritual Center in Culver City, CA. But it was not until I attended classes at the Las Vegas Center for Spiritual Living that I truly understood the principles that have always been with me. I was licensed as a Professional Practitioner in 2010, and a Minister in 2014. I was ordained in October of 2018.
I want people to live from a place of authenticity and realize that each and every one of us is love and loved and we all have special gifts to share. I know that this realization will create more acceptance and love, and will therefore change the world as we now know it.
I have been serving as o Co-Senior Minister, along with Rev. Cheryl Bell and Rev. Dan Gerome, since 2016. My main role is the Minister of Practitioners. My passion is teaching and I strongly believe in the continuing education of Practitioners. Practitioners do so much and give so much of their time that they really hold up our Center. I believe it is important to have at least one person dedicate themselves to their continuing education and well-being. I am taking on the responsibility to ensure that the Practitioners are appreciated, uplifted and inspired.
Rev sunday cote
At 24, Rev. Sunday had a revelation. It was the first time she had seen a women minister and was touched by the message of Oneness and personal creative power. It was there she heard the words from within that would change her life, “This is what you are to do.”
Rev. Sunday committed right then to the calling of ministry and to our life-empowering teachings. Gleaned from the words of Dr. Ernest Holmes, her guiding purpose is simply to help heal the illusion of separation.
In 2018, she celebrates 25 years in ministry. A graduate of the Denver Campus, she has been both a Senior Minister and staff minister. She currently serves as the Founding Minister of the Center for Spiritual Living in Leesburg, VA.
Having served in these different capacities allows her to understand and support ministers in a wide variety of positions and experiences. Additionally, having served both in the southwest and on the east coast, she is deeply in tuned to the unique challenges of location in ministry.
Rev. Sunday is called to give back to the ministers that have lifted her up through the years and is passionate about supporting them in creating healthy and vibrant ministries both in real life communities as well as with the many new virtual and on-line venues. Her wide breadth of knowledge and experience will serve well the larger CSL community, empowering leadership in our centers and contributing to a world that works for all.
